when i read your journal i thought "hmmm, those who have a 7D are gonna get disappointed" and indeed, there's kinda discussion at the top of the comments =p you shouldn't say "fuck off the 7D" =D ... anyway, how much it costs the mkll in your place?? here's around 4-5k dollars, so for the future i'm planing to buy a ticket wherever in the globe and the camera with the same money

85mm f/1.8 it`s a great choice...
or as I read few comments before me...135mm f/2 it`s a greater choice.

I have the 7D - was looking at the "Marks" , I'm happy with the 7d but it's not a "pro" camera, Pro enough for me though - - I recently added 135m 2.0 <---- OMG! great color and super sharp, also the 85m 1.8 <---- haven't really put it on my camera, actually just once - the 135 is so awesome! I also own a Sigma 105m 2.8 with macro - Holy crap! sharp, beautiful color---- and macro - one of my favorites! For a Sigma it rocks. I also, have the 50 1.4 but I think you have that lens!
135m 2.0 highly recommended! Good luck with your purchase! Fantastic Work, BTW!!!

hab mich eh gewundert wieso du eine cropsensor 7D einer 5D oder 1D vollformat bevorzugst.. wenn man durch den sucher der 1D oder 5D schaut, kommt dir die 7D wie nen briefmarkenformat vor :D..

I am very delighted so feel such happiness shining through you hehe. I also wonder won't you buy a zooming lens? I think the 85mm is awesome, but I believe since you have already 50mm 1/4 , a zooming lens would be a great choice. Canon 5D also records video, and zooming in videos is very helpful and useful :]

If you take a look at my gallery, it's full of works done with the 5D Mark II and the Canon 50 1.4 :)
All the photos with the black circle around were done using a Tamron 17-50 2.8 for APS-C sensors: it works somehow!! :aww:

Sehr gute Entscheidung die 5D Mark II zu wählen. Bin sehr sehr zufrieden damit. Als Teleobjektiv kann ich dir das 70-200 EF-L IS 2,8 oder als Universal-Objektiv das 28-300 EF-L IS 3,5-5,6 empfehlen. Jep.

Alternativ
kannst du dir das 100mm f/2.8 IS USM Macro anschauen.

bevor du die zoom objektive (außer die ganz guten L teile) kaufst, nimm lieber die fixbrennweiten. vor allem vom 85er hört man nur gutes. und ist ein schönes portrait-objektiv.

Approx $2500. You can get version I for approx $2000. Without image-stabilization you can get it for approx $1500. They made a lot of different versions of the lens, because it is so nice :)
I have a few Canon lenses, and the MarkII if you have any questions about what I do, and don't like. And what I do, and don't use often.
